With over 50 years of existence, the SBCC is one of the oldest bumiputera business society in Sabah and has a membership strength of 1,200 throughout Sabah.

FUNCTIONS OF SABAH BUMIPUTERA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (SBCC)

CONSULTING AND ADVISORY SERVICES

Consulting and Advisory services are offered to SBCC’s members to assist them in the preparation of constituent instruments. The constituent instruments help the members in the registration of their business.

EXPOSER TO THE MARKET

The SBCC and other local chambers jointly organize trade exhibitions and industrial affairs, which gives business owners one on one interaction with clients, and potential clients. The business owners get to know their customers’ need and want, and act on them, hence increasing their sales.

SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTES

Whenever disputes arise between members of SBCC, it is SBCC’s responsibility to settle the disagreement or misunderstanding through arbitration. The SBCC ensures there is peace and unity among its members.

ORGANISE TRAINING

SBCC is in charge of organizing training, workshop and seminars on behalf of its members. These events enlighten the members to the current market trends. SBCC also host events for its members to get a chance to present their issues and make suggestions. It makes sure that the interests of the members are promoted and protected.

REPRESENTING MEMBERS' BUSINESSES TO THE GOVERNMENT

The SBCC talks on behalf of members’ businesses to the government on several legislative issues. It makes representation about any detrimental issues affecting the SBCC’s members.

COMMUNICATION

The SBCC functions as the spokesman of its members. It also collects and communicates information relevant to members’ businesses.
